Your Perfect Krabi Itinerary

If you are planning a trip to Krabi and have no idea what to do there then you are at the right place, or rather page. Krabi offers a countless number of things to do and places to go to and all of them are extremely tempting.

Krabi is a beautiful part of Thailand and when I think of it the only thing that comes to my mind is the scenic view of the ocean, the incredibly beautiful white sand beaches, limestone karsts and its jungle terrain. Krabi can be reached either from Bangkok by flight or by taking a bus which could take about ten to twelve hours and if you are travelling from Phuket then it would take about two and a half hours by bus or a taxi and it is quite economical too.

Krabi is an ideal destination spot where you can enjoy pretty much everything like beaches, sightseeing, do island hopping, visit mangroves and last but not the least Bars that play the early 90s music which is rare to find nowadays. I am going to list out the top best things that I did in Krabi and I am sure it will be helpful for you to plan your itinerary.

Emerald Pool

Plan a day-trip to Thung Teao National Park where you will find a nature trail leading to the crystal lagoon which is a natural beauty. Swim in the warm and clear water in the middle of a lush jungle to experience its true magic as the color of the water keeps changing depending on the time of the day and ensure that you start early in the morning as it is an hours ride away from Ao-Nang.

Hot Water Springs

These springs are said to have healing properties that help skin ailments, both the hot and cold water springs are remedial and pacifying ‘Hot Tubs’ which are also good for circulation and should definitely be on your bucket list. This place is at a short distance from Emerald Pool so it will be a good idea to combine these two together when you are planning your day.

Island Hop

Krabi’s turquoise waters, white sand and pristine beaches are a perfect getaway for a holiday. There are dozens of islands around Krabi, however, the most famous ones are James Bond, Hong Island, Railay Beach, Ko Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. Hire a boat to these islands to spend a day full of excitement and adventure.

Ao Nang Walking Street

Stroll along the street to savor the authentic feel of Krabi with the beach on one side and stores on the other selling clothes, bags and footwear. You will also see Indian Restaurants, Bars, street-food and everything else you can think of. You can shop for souvenirs from here at a good price and if you ever get tired of exploring the street you can simply cross the road and go and sit on the beach while sipping on a cocktail that you can buy from small mobile bars.

Kayak through the canals in the dense mangroves of Ao Thalane whilst getting a view of the Limestone Canyons and you will feel like you are traveling back in time as you will experience the incredible fauna and flora. This is a very different and peaceful experience.

Ao Nang Beach

The best time to visit this beach is late in the afternoon when the waves are gentle and refreshing, you will see a couple of long-tail boats in the horizon, a huge mountain right on the beach and with the sun setting in the background, all of this  makes it a picture-perfect moment. Ao-Nang comes to life at night, you can walk around the beach and later chill at any of the bars which are at a walking distance from there.

Sunset Cruise

Make the most of your trip to Krabi by making it even more romantic, make your reservations on one of the last Siamese Ships. Set sail and cruise around the Andaman islands where you can swim, snorkel, enjoy a Thai buffet, some cocktails and lastly view the spectacular sunset. The cruise is available all week and it is for six hours so make sure you plan your day accordingly.

Krabi Town

Krabi Town has modernized itself without losing its archaic charm. Wander around the streets of Krabi Town where you will spot fishing boats docked away after catching fish for the day, local bars and picturesque cafes. Relax at one of the bars while sipping on a cocktail after a tedious day of exploring Krabi.

To Conclude...

Apart from this you can also plan a trip to Khao Sok National park where you can hike through endless rainforests, caves, waterfalls, canoe across a river or just simply relax in huts which are built on an Emerald green lake whilst listening to the peaceful sound of nature. You can either plan an unforgettable day-trip or decide to stay there for a night. This is something that I would definitely do on my next trip to Thailand.
